About Erica
I am a novelist, essayist, and former standup comic. Of all things, I love to create entertainment; but when I’ve shut my laptop for the day I love to be entertained. Make me laugh, scare the crap out of me, it doesn’t matter; just take me away to another world, and I will try to do the same for you.

I have been a ghostwriter, editor, and screenwriter. I have a Masters in Creative Writing from Boston University, but I also credit Grubstreet, the renowned creative writing center in Boston, not only for their brilliant classes but for their supportive writing community. My work has appeared in Salon and The Boston Globe, as well as on National Public Radio. In the spring of 2019, my novel The River at Night, was optioned for film by Miramax.

I live with my husband, George, who puts up with my every cranky writer hissy fit, and my cat who just ignores me, which might be (is) the best response. I am in love with my family and friends, the startling beauty of the natural world, and the wonders that lay half hidden in everyday life.
