The Lincoln Highway by Amor Towles

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I LOVED The Rules of Civility and A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles so when I heard he had a new book coming out, I was caught between wild excitement and fear that I would likely be disappointed.  I was not disappointed with The Lincoln Highway!  Full of lovable, flawed characters you couldn’t help rooting for and the writing was beautiful. The plot is not action packed… similar to his other stories, this one takes its time, letting you savor the gorgeous prose and get to know each character intimately.  I was surprised that the story was told in multiple voices. I had expected Emmett to be the sole narrator and while he was probably my favorite character, I really enjoyed Duchess’ voice -  "Me, I love surprises. I love it when life pulls a rabbit out of a hat. Like when the blue plate special is turkey and stuffing in the middle of May.”

I really loved this nostalgic story of road trips, second chances, bad luck, dreams and family.
