This is one of those books that will stay with me for a long time. This story is told through a few different perspectives and time periods. The main protagonist, Maggie, is the kind of teacher I work with. I felt like I was reading about a friend and it was hard to believe she was fictitious. I really wanted to see her magical sounding cottage and eat her mother’s amazing food. But more than that, I want to touch a child’s heart the way she touched Yuri’s. This was an incredible story of relationships and a good reminder that we have no idea what most people are going through or have suffered through. A must read.
