This Time Tomorrow by Emma Straub

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

For me The Vacationers was a five-star read and Modern Lovers fell flat so I skipped All Adults Here. But I’m back in the Emma Straub fan club! Her latest novel, This Time Tomorrow, is one of my favorites of the year. I went into it blind which added to the experience so I won’t say too much here. Other than, read this when you’re in the mood for a warm and delightful book about one woman’s midlife crisis on her 40th birthday. The setting (Manhattan’s Upper West Side in the late 1990s) and father-daughter relationship (he’s devoted and a novelist) add to the charm of this book. Fans of Wrinkle in Time, The Midnight Library or the movie 13 Going on 30 will adore this one.

Best paired with a bowl of Grape-Nuts cereal.

XO, Tara
