The Bodyguard by Katherine Center

If you are looking for a summer read that is 100% pure fun, then the Bodyguard is for you. The main ingredients are sunshine, sass, swooning and swagger. Like any romcom, it has a far-fetched plot, lots of banter, and a predictable ending, but it also had lots of loveable characters, nostalgia and hope. I usually go for more darkness in my books but this one hit me at just the right time - a time when I wanted to be lost in a blissfully light and happy novel.

Hannah, our spunky heroine, is going through a rough patch in her personal life... her mother has just died and her boyfriend dumped her on the night of the funeral. She can’t wait to jump back into her work, where everything makes sense and she is in control. Turns out, Hannah is very good at her job and is a bit of a workaholic... you guessed it, she’s a bodyguard!

When her next assignment turns out to be protecting Hollywood’s most eligible and dashing bachelor, the heat is turned up and Hannah finds her rigid professionalism melting away as she starts breaking her own rules.
