(l adored it. One of my favorites of the year!)
I never reread books. But I got seventy-five percent through this dark academia literary mystery and I started over. I started over because it is so layered and so complex that I didn’t want to miss a thing before I read the end. And, hoo boy, what an end. Read this when you are in the mood for an unlikable narrator who makes questionable decisions and an unsolved mystery set on the campus of a New Hampshire boarding school. I Have Some Questions for You by Rebecca Makkai covers so much ground: racism, true crime, the #MeToo movement, the injustice within our justice systems, and more. It is The Secret History by Donna Tartt meets A Knock at Midnight by Brittany Barnett. Best paired with a small bagel with jam and an orange juice from the deli. XO, Tara
