Attention people of the Internet. This debut novel is all that and everything. Read this when you are in the mood for a gritty, character-driven story told through the eyes of four woman in a Texas oil town. Think pistols and tumbleweeds and whiskey. Did I mention that the prose is gorgeous, sentence by sentence, simile by simile? It is Olive Kitteridge by Elizabeth Strout meets Doc by Mary Doria Russell. Elizabeth Wetmore, if you are reading this, let’s just put this mildly: I would give my front teeth for an entire novel about Corrine and Potter.

Best paired with limeade and a smoke. XO, Tara
