One Two Three by Laurie Frankel

Fans of Laurie Frankel (This is How It Always Is) will appreciate her ability to take a tough subject and build an utterly endearing story that alternates between heartbreaking and laugh out loud funny. This book takes place in Bourne, where 17 years ago a corporate waste dumping turned the water green. Since that time, the residents have lost their jobs, seen the value of their homes drop so low they can’t afford to move, many have become seriously ill and birth defects in the population are more common than not. (I told you it was a tough subject!). The story focuses on the Mitchell Family - Nora, a single mom and her 3 daughters, Mab, Monday, and Mirabel.

The three girls (triplets) narrate the story in their unique, quirky, witty, unforgettable voices and you will adore them! Mab (One) is the normal one which actually makes her different in Bourne. Monday (Two) is on the autism spectrum, loves green and loves books. Mirabel (Three) is the smartest person anyone in Bourne has ever met. She is confined to a wheelchair and needs a computer to speak.
